Sept. 25, 2008--Fluor Corporation has been Awarded an EPC contract of about $1 billion for USEC's American Centrifuge Plant in Piketon, Ohio. The site will peak at about 800 workers in mid 2009.

9/15/2008 - The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) issued citations to three contractors with proposed penalties totaling $313,500 for alleged violations of safety standards after investigating the catastrophic March 15 collapse of a tower crane in New York City that killed seven people. Sept. 10, 2008--KBR announced today that a division of its Services Business Unit, BE&K, has been awarded a contract by ADA-ES, Inc. for the construction of its Red River Activated Carbon Plant located in Red River Parish, Louisiana. 9-10-2008-- Construction of a new $2 billion coke unit that will soon get under way at the ConocoPhillips Wood River Refinery should go on line in two years. Before the end of 2010, the new coke oven is expected to be in operation at the Roxana plant. The new unit will expand prodution capacity from 306,000 barrels to approximately 360,000 barrels a day.
